Individuals arrested for their involvement in smuggling people illegally by sea

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 08/08/2023, after following up on human smuggling operations across the northern Lebanese coast towards Europe, the Intelligence Directorate arrested in Bebnin, Mina, Deir Ammar, Selaata, and Minya 15 Lebanese and 31 Syrians for being involved in smuggling people illegally by sea on board a group of boats.

Investigation was initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
