An Army unit came under fire during the raid of a Syrian refugee camp and the residences of wanted individuals in Al Taybe -Alhamoudiya in the Bekaa region

The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On September 16, 2023, a military unit, supported by an intelligence patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence, raided a Syrian refugee camp in Al Taybe -Alhamoudiya in the Bekaa region. During the operation, two citizens (A.A.A.) and (AA.SH.A), a Syrian individual and several others wanted for drug trafficking, fired towards the army personnel who fired back in return.  

Immediately after the incident, the military raided the residences of the mentioned individuals and a warehouse belonging to them, and arrested the citizens (AA.SH.A), and (H.T) wanted for theft, as well as 13 Syrians. Additionally, they seized a vehicle, motorcycles, military weapons, a quantity of drugs, and raw materials used for their production.

The seized items were handed over, and the investigation was initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
