Ensuring Citizen Safety as Ceasefire Takes Effect
The Lebanese Armed Forces Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
As the ceasefire takes effect, the army is taking necessary measures to complete its deployment in the south in accordance with the mandate of the Lebanese government, and to carry out its missions in coordination with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) under the framework of Resolution 1701.
In this context, the Army Command urges citizens to exercise caution and delay their return to the front-line villages and towns that have been infiltrated by Israeli enemy forces, awaiting their withdrawal in accordance with the ceasefire agreement. It emphasizes the importance of adhering to the instructions of the military units deployed in the area to ensure their safety.
The Army Command also advises returning residents in other areas to remain vigilant for unexploded ordnance and suspicious objects left behind by Israeli forces, and to report such findings to the Army Operations Room at the number 117, or to the nearest army or security center.
