Regulations for the use of all kinds of gliders in Lebanese airspace
- Acquiring the necessary permits (for instance, the permit of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, permit of import, permit of use, permit of communication devices etc….) according to the enforced rules and instructions.
- Abiding by general conditions as well as takeoff and landing spots after coordination with the Air Force.
- Abiding by the general safety standards and the use of the glider in a way that does not jeopardize the safety of individuals and properties.
- Insuring the glider in case any damage was inflicted upon the accompanying individuals or others and their properties.
- Limiting the use of motorized gliders and a rubber boat to over waters and in specified regions.
- Limiting the use of the glider to individuals holding permits of use.
- Abiding by the specified time and regions by the Army Command (limits and height).
- Equipping gliders with tracking systems that operate with minimum 2 systems (example: a GPS and a cellular web system …) and providing their operating programs to the Air Force by the individual requesting a permit except for regular gliders.
- Providing a way of communication on the glider with the main aerial operation room in a permanent manner.
- Coordinating with the main Aerial operations room before 24 hours, 30 minutes prior to takeoff and at landing.
- Coordinating with the Naval forces in case the glider was motorized, taking off and landing above the water.
- The pilot of the glider should prove his competence and qualification to practice gliding (pilot diploma, competence diploma,…)
- In case of violation of instructions or use of the glider, perpetrators will be subject to the suitable procedures that range between not allowing a trip to seizing a flight reaching the cancellation of the granted permit.
