The handover of a donation offered by the Italian authorities to the LAF

The handover ceremony of hydrographic equipment and several prefabricated units offered by the Italian authorities to the LAF was held at Beirut Naval base with the presence of Brigadier General Taan Nassar, the director of engineering, representing the Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun in addition to Italian Ambassador to Lebanon Mr. Massimo Marotti and Italian military attaché, colonel Massimiliano Sforza and several officers. Ambassador Marotti delivered a speech on the occasion in which he stressed the importance of cooperation between both armies and confirmed the commitment of his country to continue offering military aid to the LAF. Moreover, Brigadier General Nassar delivered a speech in which he stated: “We consider this recurring initiative as a fruitful result of the constructive cooperation between our countries, which has a positive impact on the ties between the Italian army and the LAF as well as the performance of our military units. The Italian support holds a major importance in light of the massive missions performed by the military institution in order to preserve security and stability throughout the nation.”
In the end, Brigadier General Nassar expressed his appreciation to the Italian Ambassador for this donation then offered him the army commemorative shield, in appreciation of the efforts of the Italian authorities in supporting the LAF.
