23 soldiers injured in peacekeeping operations and 24 suspects arrested including a Syrian national and a Palestinian

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
Army units performed peacekeeping operations during popular protests throughout Lebanese territories. As a result of the riots that took place yesterday in the cities of Tripoli and Sidon, 23 soldiers suffered from injuries. One of the sodliers was severely injured and his fingers were amputated. Army units arrested 24 suspects among whom a Syrian national and a Palestinian for throwing fireworks, Molotov cocktails, rioting and damaging private and public properties.
Investigation is currently underway under the supervision of the relevant judiciary authorities.
