The Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun visited the Jordanian Kingdom
Basing on an official invitation from the chief of joint staff in the Jordanian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Mahmoud Abd el Halim Freihat, the Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun headed yesterday along with an accompanying delegation to the Jordanian Kingdom. General Aoun began his visit by meeting Lieutenant General Freihat and a number of the Jordanian Armed Forces Staff. The meetings included discussions concerning relations of cooperation between both countries as well as ways to boost them in the coming phases, particularly in the fields of joint training and exchange of expertise and military techniques. General Aoun expressed his appreciation to Lieutenant General Freihat for the aid offered by the Jordanian Armed Forces to the LAF during the past years and extended to him an official invitation to visit Lebanon. Moreover, Lieutenant General Freihat commended the role of the LAF in fighting terrorism, particularly in the “Dawn of the Jurds” operation and confirmed that the brotherly cooperation will continue in order to boost the capabilities of both armies to face the common security challenges.
Afterwards, General Aoun visited the center of King Abdallah the 2nd for design and development, where he was informed of the conduct of work in the workshops of heavy vehicles. He then visited the center of King Abdallah the 2nd for special operations training and was informed of the conduct of training and the adopted curriculums in the center.
The Armed Forces Commander also ended his visit by meeting with the King Abdallah Bin Hussein this afternoon in the royal palace in Amman where they discussed the situation in Lebanon and the region. The King congratulated General Aoun for the ultimate achievement accomplished by the LAF in facing terrorism, particularly in the “Dawn of the Jurds” operation and expressed his ultimate support to the LAF at different levels. Furthermore, General Aoun thanked King Abdallah for his major trust in the LAF and his commitment to boost its military capabilities in order to defend Lebanon and preserve its security and stability.
