The Armed Forces Commander launches the building project of a new barrack for the airborne regiment – Ghosta

The Armed Forces Commander General joseph Aoun launched today the building project for a new barrack for the airborne regiment in Ghosta, on a land offered by the Mouhaseb family, with the presence of several figures, officers and parents of the regiment martyrs. General Aoun delivered a speech saying: “from this place, the land of eagles, where heads are held up high, we launch the building project of a new barrack for the airborne regiment. A barrack which department fulfill the military, training and logistic requirements of the regiment in order to develop its capabilities, out of confidence in its role and importance. Special units in the LAF have always been the forces of the elite. They have achieved victory after victory in battles that the LAF went through against numerous enemies who have aimed to break the nation’s will and to target the doctrine of its army. However, their dreams were shattered thanks to our brave soldiers who were the source of pride of the institution and to Lebanon.

The elite units, such as Rangers, Navy Seals and Airborne constantly prove their high military and combat capabilities as well as the competence of their officers and soldiers in facing dangers and defend Lebanon. Therefore, the Army command gives special attention to providing all the possible means needed for these units to enhance their capabilities, which puts them in complete and constant preparedness.”

General Aoun added:” since the end of the Dawn of the Outskirts battle in the military sense, and with our continuous security battles, most of our attention was directed towards developing the military training of units so that they remain constantly prepared, hence the building of the training center for special units, weeks ago in Akkar. Here we are today launching the building project of a new barrack for the regiment. The airborne regiment has proven during its military journey its capability to be outstandingly professional and competent, for the journey of development was baptized with blood and surrounded with brave achievements and the men of the airborne regiment were loyal to the oath. We promise the Lebanese that the LAF will remain the safe haven and will not spare any way to offer sacrifice for the sake of stability and security. We persist in our oath so that the nation may persist.”

The commander of the regiment also delivered a speech in which he expressed his appreciation to the citizens of Ghosta for their generous hospitality for the regiment and expressed his appreciation to the LAF command for the mighty efforts exerted in order to enhance the journey of development and modernization in the military institution.
