The Army organized the ceremonial funeral of martyr sergeant Bassem Moussa and martyr soldier Othman el-Shedid and martyr soldier Elie Freijeh

The Army Command and the citizens of Berkayel, el-Kweikhat, Akkar and Rhit – Zahle organized the ceremony of martyr sergeant Bassem Moussa, martyr soldier Othman el-Shedid and martyr soldier Elie Freijeh who martyred yesterday as a result of the explosion of a landmine at the road of Douwar el-Njasa – Jurds of Ersal.
The funeral commenced with the honoring ceremony dedicated to the martyr sergeant Bassem Moussa, martyr soldier Othman el-Shedid at the gates of the Central Military Hospital – Badaro while the ceremony of honoring dedicated to martyr soldier Elie Freijeh took place in front of Dar el-Amal College Hospital – Baalbek where a unit of Military Police and another unit of the Military Band performed the ritual ceremonials. The bodies of the martyrs were granted the medals of war, the wounded and military appreciation of Bronze degree. Following the ceremonies, the bodies of the martyrs were transported to their villages. Colonel Toufic Yazbek, Colonel Jack Abdul Sater and Colonel P.S.C Yasser Jomaa represented minister of National Defense Mr. Yaacoub Riyad el-Sarraf and Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun General Joseph Aoun during the funerals and delivered a speech in which they praised the heroism of the martyrs and their dedication in performing their military duty. The Colonels added in their speech “this is yet another epic where our heroes are engaging in a war without any leniency against terrorism that is plotting against our compatriots at the eastern border while repeatedly expressing its evil intentions and criminal acts as well as disavowing all moral ethics and humanitarian principles. In return, our Army declared its commitment to eradicate this terrorism from its roots armed with its firm belief in the country, kinship among comrades in arm and the support of all the Lebanese people in an honorable stance that expresses the people’s full backing.
