Ceremony of launching the Lebanese nautical charts
A ceremony was held this morning at the Jounieh Naval Base, in the presence of the Italian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mrs. Nicoletta Bombardiere, and the Commander of the Naval Forces, Colonel Naval P.S.C. Haitham Al-Dnawy, representing the Lebanese Army Commander in Chief General Joseph Aoun, representatives of the port administrations and a number of military attachés.
The Ambassador Bombardiere delivered a speech in which she expressed her appreciation for this achievement, which resulted from the successful joint cooperation between the Italian and Lebanese navies, noting that these charts will contribute to achieving economic growth and facilitating maritime traffic and trade. She stressed the importance of hydrographic work in the civilian and military fields alike, praising the performance of the Lebanese Army in maintaining the security and stability of the Lebanese people.
For his part, Colonel Al-Dannawi gave a speech in which he said: "This important step makes our region a better place for sailing, trade and communication. We have worked since 2019 to improve the security, commercial and economic climate at sea at various levels. These efforts culminated in Lebanon's accession to the International Hydrographic Organization in view of the high professionalism shown by the Lebanese Navy in the hydrography field.”
At the end, commemorative shields were exchanged.
