A ceremony showcasing the execution phases of the donation project offered by the European Union

The ceremony showcasing the execution phases of the donation project offered ‎by the European Union to the LAF was held in Rihaniye with the presence of Pilot Brigadier General P.S.C Khalil Abou Sleiman, representing the Armed Forces Commander as well as Mr. Rein Nieland, representing the EU and heading an accompanying delegation, along with several officers.

The ceremony began with the Lebanese and EU national anthems, then the phases of the project were showcased by the Lebanese side. Moreover, Mr. Nieland delivered a speech on the occasion in which he stated that the EU has given major interest to the update of LAF equipment, Nieland stressed that the military institution plays a major role in preserving the nation’s stability and fighting external threats in addition to preserving the principle of Law sovereignty and respecting Human Rights.

Furthermore, Pilot Brigadier General P.s.C abou Sleiman delivered a speech in which he confirmed that accomplishments achieved in this field, 3 years after the launch of this project are accomplishments that highly contributed to improving the performance of several directorates and LAF units and that the support provided by the European side for this project has a particular importance in this delicate phase of Lebanon’s phase
