The funeral of the martyrs of the Lebanese army in Labweh and Taalabaya – Bekaa
The army command and the citizens of Labweh and Taalabaya - Beqaa held the funeral of the martyrs First Adjutant Hassan Khalil Sharif and sergeant Paul Antoine Jurdi, who were martyred in clashes between the army and wanted individuals during raids in Hortaala - the Beqaa on 16/02/2023.
The funeral began with a ceremony honoring the two martyrs in front of Al-Abdullah Hospital in Rayak, where a group of military police and army band saluted them and the necessary ceremonies. They were awarded with medals of war, the wounded, and bronze military valor, and then the two bodies were transported to the two aforementioned towns.
Colonel P.S.C. Muhammad Ali Al-Zammar and P.S.C. Salah Aloueh represented the Minister of National Defense, Maurice Selim, and the Lebanese Army Commander in chief, General Joseph Aoun, at the memorial ceremonies, and he saluted the merits of the two martyrs, their courage, and their impulsiveness in performing their duty, recalling that their blood contributed to deterring death dealers and drug dealers and arresting a number of them what will reduce the spread of crime in the Lebanese society. He also stressed that the military institution continues to pursue criminals and those who violate security, especially those whose hands are stained with the blood of the military, until they are arrested and brought to justice so that they receive their punishment.
