Military Units Continue Deployment in Southern Border Towns

Wednesday, 19 February 2025

The Lebanese Armed Forces Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
Military units are continuing their deployment in all southern border towns in coordination with the Quintet Committee overseeing the ceasefire agreement (Mechanism) and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), following the withdrawal of the Israeli enemy. It is noted that the enemy has not fully complied with the withdrawal from the occupied Lebanese territories, as mandated by international covenants, legitimacy, and United Nations resolutions, particularly Resolution 1701. The enemy still maintains positions at several border points and continues to evade its commitments, violating Lebanese sovereignty through ongoing attacks on the security of Lebanon and its citizens.
In this context, specialized military units have intensified their efforts to support the return of residents to their lands by clearing debris and opening roads after the extensive destruction caused by the Israeli aggression, as well as addressing unexploded ordnance and suspicious objects that pose an imminent threat to the lives of citizens.
The Army Command emphasizes the importance of adhering to the directives of the deployed military units to avoid casualties.
