Pro-ISIS cell arrested in Tripoli

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
The Intelligence Directorate in Tripoli arrested a number of individuals who formed a cell supporting the terrorist organization ISIS. The cell members had purchaseed individual firearms and ammunition in order to carry out assaults, taking advantage of the deteriorating conditions in Lebanon. They also sought to recruit other people to help them.
The cell had started its activity last June, and carried out the assassination of the retired first adjutant, Ahmed Murad, in the Mi’atayn - Tripoli on 22/8/ 2021.
The investigation began with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
