Release of an Iraqi Kidnapped at the Lebanese-Syrian Border

The Lebanese Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 14/09/2024, following a series of raids that resulted in the arrest of several individuals, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate was able to free the Iraqi citizen (A.H.Gh.) at the Lebanese-Syrian border. He had been kidnapped by one of the gangs on 24/08/2024, which demanded a large ransom for his release.

The investigation was initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities and efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining members of the gang.
