Several soldiers injured while attempting to open the road

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 20/12/2019, while the LAF was trying to reopen Naameh road in order to facilitate movement, a protester threw stone towards the troops, forcing them to shoot in the air and use tear bombs in order to separate the protesters.

In Corniche el Mazraa, 7 troops were injured after being hit with stones by protesters and some of them attempted to unload the trucks in order to close the road and disrupt the movement of citizens.

LAF units continue to work on opening the road and restore the situation to its natural state.
