Ceremony honoring the Secretary-General of the Supreme Defense Council, Major General Mahmoud Al-Asmar, on the occasion of his retirement

The Lebanese Army Commander in Chief General Joseph Aoun chaired this morning in Yarzeh a ceremony honoring the Secretary-General of the Supreme Defense Council, Major General P.S.C. Mahmoud Al-Asmar, on the occasion of his retirement, in the presence of members of the Military Council and a number of commanding officers.

General Aoun gave a speech in which he thanked General Al-Asmar, considering that the soldier remains linked to the military institution even after retirement.

In turn, General Al-Asmar pledged allegiance to the military institution, which is the guarantee of the stability of the country.

At the end of the ceremony, General Aoun presented to General Al-Asmar the army shield, as a token of thanks and appreciation.
