Syrian Killed After Attempting to Stab Soldiers in Deir Al Achayer – Bekaa

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
On May 10, 2024, during an operation conducted by a military unit, supported by a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate, to arrest a group of smugglers in the Deir Al Achayer - Bekaa, the Syrian (K.A.) attempted to stab the unit's members with a dagger. In response, the soldiers opened fire, resulting in the injury of the individual. He was transported to a nearby hospital and died.
In addition, the Syrian (A.W.) was arrested, and follow-ups are ongoing to arrest the remaining individuals involved.
The investigation was initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
