Lebanese Army Responds to Gunfire from Syrian Territory and Transfers Bodies of 3 Syrians to Syrian Authorities

The Army Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
On March 16, 2025, following the killing of two Syrians and the injury of another at the Lebanese-Syrian border near Al Qasr - Hermel, the wounded individual was transferred to a hospital for treatment but soon passed away. In response, the army implemented exceptional security measures and conducted intensive communications from the night of March 16-17, 2025, until the early hours of the morning, resulting in the transfer of the three bodies to the Syrian side.
Simultaneously, Lebanese villages and towns in the area were shelled from Syrian territory, prompting military units to respond to the sources of fire with appropriate weaponry, and to enhance their presence and secure the area.
Communications between the Army Command and the Syrian authorities continue to maintain security and stability in the border region.
