The Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun visited the general Red Cross committee
The Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun visited the general Red Cross committee during its periodic meeting in Lancaster Hotel – Hazmieh with the presence of representatives from the International Red Cross where he delivered a speech on the occasion in which he saluted the participants in the meeting and expressed his appreciation to the committee’s president and members for their national and humanitarian generosity. General Aoun also commended their efforts and sacrifices while transferring martyrs and wounded individuals during the Dawn of the Outskirts operation as well as their support of the soldiers in the frontline of the combat and described them as the unknown soldiers who sacrifice themselves, not taking in account any material or moral benefits. The Armed Forces Commander also highlighted the importance of cooperation and coordination between the LAF and the Lebanese Red Cross, basing on joint national values and targets, mainly sacrifice for the sake of Lebanon. Moreover, General Aoun expressed the preparedness of the LAF to execute a wide blood donation campaign for the sake of the organization. In the end, General Aoun presented the head of the organization Dr. Antoine Zoghbi with an appreciation letter as well as the army commemorative shield as a token of appreciation and loyalty.
