Appointment of Brigadier General Fadi Makhoul as General Inspector and member of the Military Council in the Ministry of National Defense, and promotion him to the rank of Major General P.S.C.

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

Based on Decree No. 105 of April 3, 2025, Brigadier General Fadi Makhoul was appointed Inspector General and member of the Military Council at the Ministry of National Defense. Based on Decree No. 108 of April 3, 2025, he was promoted to the rank of Major General.

The following is a brief biography:

- Born in Kuwait on March 30, 1970.

- Volunteered in the army as a cadet officer on January 15, 1990.

- Graduated from the Military College with the rank of Lieutenant on April 23, 1994, and was promoted to the rank of Major General P.S.C. on April 3, 2025.

- Holds the following degrees: a university degree in military sciences, a degree in political and administrative sciences, a postgraduate diploma in political sciences, a research master's degree in strategic studies, and a PhD in political sciences.

- Fluent in French and English. He attended several courses abroad, including: a Commando Course in Britain, a Basic Parachuting Course in Egypt, an Infantry Battalion Leaders Course in the United Arab Emirates, a Basic Infantry Course, a Special Forces Paratrooper Course, a Combat Diving Course, Executive Programming in Decision Making, and the Nesa Executive Seminar, all in the United States. He also attended several courses at home, including a Commando Course, a Sea Commando Course, a Combat Diver Course, a Deep Diver Course, a Company Commander Course, a Battalion Commander Course, and a Staff Course.

He carried out several academic and non-academic missions abroad.

He held various leadership positions, including Commander of the Special Forces School.

- Recipient of the following medals: Dawn of the South, National Unity, Wounded twice, Military Appreciation Silver Class, 2002 Conference Commemorative Medal, National Cedar (Knight), Lebanese Merit Third Class, War Medal, Lebanese Merit Second Class, National Cedar (Officer), Counter-Terrorism Medal, Military Pride Silver Class, Lebanese Merit First Class, and National Cedar (Commander).

- Recipient of the Army Commander's Commendation and Congratulations several times.

- Married with two children.
