Appointment of Brigadier General Youssef Haddad as member of the Military Council at the Ministry of National Defense and promotion him to the rank of Major General P.S.C

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

Based on Decree No. 107 of April 3, 2025, Brigadier General Youssef Haddad was appointed as a member of the Military Council at the Ministry of National Defense. Based on Decree No. 108 of April 3, 2025, he was promoted to the rank of Major General P.S.C.

The following is a brief biography of him:

- Born in the Catholic Quarter of Tyre on August 23, 1968.

- Volunteered in the army as a cadet officer on April 23, 1992.

- Graduated from the Military College with the rank of Lieutenant on April 23, 1992, and was promoted to the rank of Major General P.S.C on April 3, 2025.

- Holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic and Security Studies.

- Fluent in French, English, Hebrew, Italian, and Russian.

- He attended several courses abroad, including Advanced Security Cooperation, NESA Executive Seminar, International Counter Terrorism Fellows Program, Executive Programming in Decision Making, and Comprehensive Crisis Management, all in the United States, as well as several courses at home, including a Battalion Commander Course, a Staff Course, and a Mountain Combat Commando Course.

- He carried out several study missions abroad.

He held various leadership positions, including: establishing the Mountain Combat Company, Commander of the 1003rd Company, Commander of the 101st Battalion, Commander of the 1st Land Border Regiment, Chairman of the Border Control and Surveillance Committee in the Army Staff for Operations, and Deputy Chief of Staff for Planning.

- He holds the following decorations: Military Appreciation, Silver Class, War Medal twice, Wounded several times, Lebanese Order of Merit, Third Class, National Order of the Cedar, Knight's Order, Lebanese Order of Merit, Second Class, French National Defense, Counter-Terrorism Medal, National Order of the Cedar, Officer's Order, and the French Legion of Honor, Knight's Order.

- He has received the Army Commander's Commendation and Congratulations several times.

- He is married with four children.
