Army arrests 10 citizens for opening fire, with one of them monitoring Army movements, and 108 Syrians for illegally entering Lebanese territory; weapons and military ammunition seized

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

Army units carried out security measures in various areas, including raids and temporary checkpoints, to pursue individuals involved in security-related offenses and combat illegal infiltration into Lebanese territory. As a result, 10 Lebanese citizens and 108 Syrians were arrested, as follows:

  • Citizen (H.J.) was arrested in Alsafri – Baalbek for shooting towards the home of a member of the Internal Security Forces on August 19, 2026.
  • Citizens (B.A.), (Y.A.), (A.A.), and (J.A.) were arrested in the town of Altaybeh – Baalbek for opening fire and terrorizing citizens. A quantity of weapons and military ammunition was seized in their possession.
  • The home of citizen (AA.M.) in on Hor Taala – Baalbek was raided and he was arrested for assisting wanted individuals in monitoring Army movements.
  • Citizens (AA.D.) and (A.D.) were arrested in the town of Nabi Yusha – Minye-Donniyeh for opening fire and terrorizing citizens. A quantity of weapons and military ammunition was seized in their possession.
  • The home of citizen (KH.N.) in the town of Hoch Al Sayyed Ali – Hermel was raided and he was arrested for his involvement in an altercation during which gunfire was exchanged, resulting in two people being wounded.
  • Citizen (AA.M.) was arrested in Lessa – Jbeil for opening fire during an altercation on August 31, 2026.
  • A total of 108 Syrians were arrested in various areas for illegally entering Lebanese territory and moving around without legal documents.

 

The seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities, and the investigation with the detainees was initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
