Army Arrests 33 Individuals Following Security Measures in Northern Lebanon

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

Army units carried out security measures in the North region, including raids, the deployment of mechanized patrols, and the establishment of temporary checkpoints. As a result, they arrested five citizens and twenty-eight Syrians, as follows:

·  Arrest of two citizens (M.GH.) and (A.M.), in Abi Samra - Tripoli for shooting.

·  Arrest of citizen (M.R.) at the Badriyeh checkpoint in Tripoli for shooting.

·  Arrest of citizen (M.SH.) in Al Maarad - Tripoli for possessing a handgun and military ammunition.

·  Arrest of citizen (B.M.) at the Madfoun checkpoint in Batroun for possessing a military handgun.

·  Arrest of 28 Syrians at the Madfoun checkpoint in Batroun for moving within Lebanese territory without legal documents.

The seized items were handed over to the competent authorities, and an investigation was initiated with the detainees under the supervision of the competent judicial authority.
