Army arrests armed robbery and theft gang in Chtoura–Zahle ; security measures carried out in various areas

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
Following a security monitoring and tracking operation in Chtoura–Zahle, an army unit arrested citizens (R.Q.), (J.J.), and (A.K.) for forming a gang involved in theft and armed robbery, impersonating security personnel, and assaulting civilians. A sum of stolen money was found in their possession.
The unit also arrested citizen (M.T.) and Syrian national (A.R.) in Temnin Tahta – Bekaa for starting a dispute over personal matters. A quantity of military ammunition was found in their possession. During the arrest, an exchange of gunfire took place between the two individuals and Army personnel, who returned fire. No injuries were reported.
Army units in northern Lebanon also carried out security measures, including raids, motorized patrols, and temporary checkpoints, to pursue wanted individuals and those disturbing public security and to combat human smuggling. As a result, 3 Lebanese nationals and 46 Syrians were arrested, as follows:
•    Lebanese nationals (AA.AA.) and (M.M.) were arrested in Chadra–Akkar and Alsfayra–Minye Donniye for opening fire.
•    Lebanese national (AA.A.) was arrested in Al Khalsa–Akkar for facilitating the smuggling of individuals across the Lebanese-Syrian border.
•    46 Syrians were arrested for entering Lebanese territory illegally.
The seized items were handed over, and the investigation with the detainees was initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
