The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

Recently, allegations attributed to hostile Israeli media outlets have emerged regarding positions related to the Army and its missions in the South, along with other fabricated reports.

The Army Command affirms that the personnel of the military institution remain committed to its directives and to the missions assigned to them. They perform their duties out of a firm belief in their national responsibility to defend Lebanon’s sovereignty, security, and stability, irrespective of any other considerations or interests. The Army Command also enjoys the confidence of brotherly and friendly countries, which continue to support the Army in recognition of the importance of its role, particularly amid the exceptional circumstances and challenges facing Lebanon.

The timing of the dissemination and promotion of these rumors, at an extremely delicate and sensitive stage, reveals the seriousness of attempts to target the Army and its leadership, sow doubt within the military institution, and undermine confidence between the Army and the Lebanese citizens. The Army Command stresses that disinformation campaigns, regardless of the parties behind them, will neither affect the cohesion of the military institution nor its ability to fulfill its duties, and will not deter it from continuing to carry out its missions to safeguard Lebanon’s security and stability.

The Army Command calls on everyone to assume their national responsibilities, refrain from being drawn into rumors or contributing to their dissemination, and refer to the Army’s official sources for information concerning the military institution and its leadership.
