The Army Commander's visit to the Fouad Chehab Academy for Command and General Staff
The Armed Forces Commander, General Joseph Aoun, visited the Fouad Chehab Academy for Command and General Staff, where he met the officers of the 37th Staff Course, who will graduate next Thursday, in the presence of the college officers.
General Aoun stressed that the successful leader is the one who creates hope, overcomes difficulties and devise solutions, and he is the one who takes the initiative and leads his ship to safety, pointing out that the merit of the leader is manifested in exceptional circumstances.
And he addressed them by saying: "I congratulate you on the occasion of the blessed Eid al-Adha, and on the occasion of your graduation soon. You have passed an essential stage of your military life and achieved success thanks to your efforts and the support of your families. You will go to the units armed with the knowledge you have acquired and your previous experience, and you will gain additional experience as operational commanders."
He added, "Lebanon is still holding together thanks to your belief in the sanctity of the mission, and friend countries who are still extending a helping hand to the army. The confidence of the Lebanese and the international community in the military establishment did not come out of nowhere, but rather is a direct result of your achievements, so it must be preserved at any cost. You and your comrades in the rest of the units have proven your worth and competence over the past three years full of challenges. History will remember that you saved Lebanon and made great achievements with the few resources available.”
He addressed the exceptional phase that Lebanon is going through: "The circumstances are difficult, but there is no word impossible except in the dictionary of the weak. Sacrifice is at the heart of the army's motto, because armies are built to sacrifice for the sake of the homeland and the people, and it is the backbone of the country. Every day is a feast in which we renew our successes and sacrifices." We have no choice but to adhere to Lebanon and the army, and we will not leave the country as a prey to criminals, terrorists and those who disturb security.
The leadership stands by you with all its energy. Preserve the institution so that it continues to preserve the homeland, focus on the goal, and do not be affected by rumors. You are the honor of this country, and you are the title of sacrifice."
He concluded by thanking the Fouad Chehab Academy for Command and General Staff, with its leadership and staff, for all its efforts.
