The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

The army continues its operations to combat drug trafficking and pursue those disrupting security in various regions.

In this context, an army unit, supported by a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate, destroyed an area planted with cannabis in Housh Tall Safiyeh and Iaat – Baalbek.

As a result of monitoring and closely tracking networks involved in the trafficking of Captagon pills, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate arrested in Bekaa the citizen (AA.J.) for his involvement in Captagon trafficking. Another patrol, supported by an army unit, arrested in the Ketermaya – Chouf the citizen (M.A.) for drug use and promotion. A quantity of drugs and a military weapon were seized from his possession.

The seized items were handed over, and the investigation was initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
