Army Seizes a Large Quantity of Military Weapons in Bchamoun – Aley and Arrests Individuals Wanted for Arms and Drug Trafficking

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
Following a surveillance and security monitoring operation, a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate raided the residence of citizen (AA.Sh.) in Bchamoun – Aley and arrested him for trafficking in military weapons and drugs. A large quantity of weapons and military ammunition was seized. The patrol also arrested citizen (M.Z.), who was accompanying him and is subject to an arrest warrant for opening fire.
A patrol from the Directorate also arrested seven citizens and two Palestinians in Nahr al Bared Camp and in Tabbaneh, Qobbeh, and the Souk Al Khodra – Tripoli for drug use and trafficking. A quantity of drugs was seized in their possession.
The seized items were handed over to the competent authorities, and investigations with the arrestees were initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
