Arrest of 38 Syrians as Part of Security Measures in Bekaa and Along the Lebanese–Syrian Borders

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

As part of the security measures carried out by the military institution in Bekaa and along the Lebanese–Syrian borders, Army units, each supported by a patrol from the Intelligence Directorate, conducted raids on the residence and camps of Syrians. These operations resulted in the arrest of 38 Syrians, as follows:

  • The arrest of 36 Syrians in Ghazza– West Bekaa for being present inside Lebanese territory illegally.
  • The arrest of two Syrians in Talia camp – Baalbek for entering Lebanese territory illegally, and the seizure of two rifles in their possession.

The seized items were handed over, and investigations with the arrestees were initiated under the supervision of the competent judiciary.
