Arrest of 5 Citizens and Seizure of a Large Quantity of Captagon Pills as Part of Security Measures

The Lebanese Armed Forces Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 10/09/2024, as part of the security measures undertaken by the military institution in various regions, units of the army, supported by patrols from the Intelligence Directorate, arrested 5 citizens as follows:

• Citizens (A.M.), (R.S.), and (M.S.) were arrested in the towns of Fneideq and Deir Amar in the North for shooting. A hand grenade, a quantity of military ammunition, and military equipment were seized in their possession.
• Citizens (AA.N.) and (A.N.) were arrested in Hermel in Baalbek for shooting.
• Raids were conducted on the residences of wanted individuals in Hourtaala in Baalbek, leading to the seizure of a large quantity of Captagon pills, a sum of counterfeit money, and military equipment.

The seized items were handed over, and an investigation was initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the relevant judiciary.
