The ceremony for the laying of the foundation stone for the Lebanese University and the Military Healthcare in Halba - Akkar
A cornerstone-laying ceremony was held for the Lebanese University and the Military Healthcare in Halba - Akkar, where the LAF had provided the land for the project. The ceremony was attended by the Lebanese Armed Forces Commander, General Rodolph Haykal, along with deputies: Sajih Atieh, Assad Dergham, Ahmad Rustum, Jimmy Jabbour, Mohammed Suleiman, Mohammed Yahya, and Walid Al Baerini, as well as the President of the Lebanese University, Professor Bassam Badran, Akkar Governor Imad Labaki, Bishop of Akkar for the Greek Orthodox, Basilios Mansour, and Mufti of Akkar Sheikh Zayed Bakar Zakaria, in addition to municipal officials and a crowd of residents.
During the ceremony, General Haykal emphasized that it is natural for the military institution to participate in developmental initiatives in the Akkar region, which is considered a reservoir for the LAF, as it has always contributed its best sons to serve the nation in military service and has proven its competence in all fields.
On another note, General Haykal stressed that academic achievement remains a priority for the leadership and that the LAF places great importance on enhancing healthcare and social support for its personnel, considering it a vital component for the resilience of soldiers and their families, as well as its positive impact on the social situation in Lebanon.
He concluded by thanking the Lebanese University for its pioneering role and cooperation with the LAF. Deputy Atieh, Professor Badran, Bishop Mansour, and Mufti Zakaria also affirmed their commitment to supporting developmental projects for the benefit of the people of Akkar, especially those aimed at strengthening educational institutions, with the Lebanese University at the forefront. They praised the LAF's role in launching the Lebanese University and the Military Healthcare project in Halba and its sacrifices in defending the nation and ensuring its security.
