Death of One Person and Injury of Another after They Opened Fire and Attempted to Run over Personnel near a Military Border Observation Point

The LAF Command - Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On July 29, 2025, while a vehicle containing a Lebanese citizen and a Syrian was passing near a military border observation point in the town of Matraba – Al Qasr, they exited the vehicle and opened fire towards the town. They did not comply with the warnings from the observation point personnel and attempted to leave the area, trying to run over the soldiers, who were forced to fire back, resulting in the death of the Lebanese citizen and the injury of the Syrian.

The investigation was initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the relevant judicial authorities to uncover the circumstances of the incident.
