Drug Smuggler Killed After Vehicle Overturns While Attempting to Run Over Soldiers and Flee Temporary Army Checkpoint

The LAF Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
On September 21, 2025, as part of measures taken to monitor and secure the borders, a military checkpoint was established on the outskirts of Nahle-Baalbek. A Syrian national (F.H.) attempted to run over the checkpoint personnel with his vehicle and flee, resulting in his car overturning and rolling. He was transported to a hospital for treatment, but succumbed to his injuries.
Approximately 100 kg of hashish and 3 kg of Captagon pills were found in his vehicle, along with two military weapons and a quantity of ammunition.
The seized items were handed over, and an investigation was initiated under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
