Exceptional security measures in several Lebanese regions in the context of the ongoing pursuit of wanted individuals and violators of law and order
The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
In the context of the ongoing pursuit of wanted individuals and those disturbing public security, on 3/1/2026 army units, each supported by a patrol from the Directorate of Intelligence, carried out exceptional security measures in several Lebanese regions. The operations included raids, patrols, and checkpoints, resulting in the arrest of 9 Lebanese citizens and 35 Syrians in the districts of Akkar, Tripoli, Batroun, Baalbek, and Hermel, for committing various crimes such as: shooting, possession of weapons, drug use, human smuggling, and illegal presence.
As a result of these measures, a quantity of weapons, military ammunition, drugs, and military equipment was seized.
The seized items were handed over, and the investigation was initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
