Funeral Held for Five Martyr Soldiers

A funeral was held today for the following LAF martyr soldiers :  Chief Warrant Officer Abbas Fawzi Salhab, Recruit Mohammad Ali Choukair, Recruit Ibrahim Khalil Mustafa, Recruit Ahmad Fadi Fadel, and Recruit Yamen Al Hallak, in their respective hometowns: Riyaq – Zahle, Ghobeiry – Baabda, Majdaloun – Baalbek, Debaal – Tyre, and Wajh al Hajar – Homs (Syria).
The soldiers were martyred on August 9, 2025, as a result of an explosion that occurred during an inspection of a weapons and ammunition depot in the South.
Each funeral began with military honors performed by the Military Police and the Army Band. The martyrs were awarded the War Medal, the Wounded Medal, and the Bronze Military Merit Medal.
Their remains were then transported to their hometowns, where memorial services were held in the presence of representatives of the Minister of National Defense, Major General Michel Menassa, and the Acting LAF Commander, Major General Hassan Audi.
In their speeches, the representatives praised the martyr soldiers’ discipline, bravery, and dedication to duty in defense of Lebanon and its people. They affirmed that the LAF remains committed to fulfilling its missions despite great sacrifices, in defense of the nation and in loyalty to the legacy of its noble martyrs.
