Funeral of Martyr Sergeant First Class Ahmad Khalil

The Lebanese Army Command, together with the residents of the town of Froun – Bint Jbeil, held the funeral of Martyr Sergeant First Class Ahmad Khalil, who was killed on 18 July 2026 following the explosion of a suspicious object that struck an Army vehicle in the town of Mansouri – Tyre.
The funeral procession commenced from the Lebanese Italian Hospital in Tyre, where a detachment from the Military Police and the Army Band rendered the appropriate military honors. The martyr was posthumously awarded the War Medal, the Wounded Medal, and the Bronze Military Commendation Medal.
The coffin was then transferred to the cemetery of Froun – Bint Jbeil, where the funeral ceremony was held in the presence of the representative of the Minister of National Defense, Major General Michel Mnassa, and the Commander of the Lebanese Army, General Rodolph Haykal.
In his address, the Army Commander stated:
"The procession of the Army’s martyrs continues along the path of honor, sacrifice, and loyalty. Today, the military institution bids farewell to First Sergeant Martyr Ahmad Khalil. He remained true to his oath, fully committed to the honor of his mission, carrying it out to the utmost of his ability and with the highest sense of duty."
