The Lebanese Armed Forces Command and the people of the town of Jibal Al Botom - Tyre held the funeral for Sergeant Ibrahim Mhanna, who was martyred due to a military vehicle accident in the Hadata - Bint Jbeil on January 11, 2025. The ceremony was attended by a large crowd of citizens and military personnel.
The funeral procession began in front of the Tebnine Governmental Hospital and proceeded to the town of Jibal Al Botom, where the necessary honors were made. He was awarded the War Medal, the Wounded Medal, and the Bronze Military Merit Medal. The body was then transported to his hometown of Jibal Al Botom, where a memorial service was held in the presence of representatives from both the Minister of National Defense Maurice Slim, and the Interim LAF Commander, Major General Hassan Audi.
In his speech, he stated: "The loss remains significant in the hearts of our martyr's family, relatives, and loved ones, and without a doubt, his departure will leave a great void among his friends and acquaintances. However, the noble town of Jibal Al Botom has accustomed us to its heroic stances in the most difficult times, as it has supplied the military institution with its finest youth since its inception and has shown sincere solidarity and unwavering national orientations. The Army Command highly values this and sees in the family of martyr Ibrahim a representation of sacrifice and an example of loyalty, and it provides them with all available resources to attend to their needs. This is the least we can do for the families of our martyrs."
