The handover ceremony of armored vehicles and artillery ammunition supplying vehicles from the US authorities
The handover ceremony of 8 Bradly armored vehicles and 10 artillery ammunition supplying vehicles from the US authorities was held in Beirut port this morning. The ceremony was attended by deputy Chief of Staff for equipment Brigadier General P.S.C Jean Farah and US ambassador to Lebanon Ms. Elizabeth Richard who was heading an accompanying delegation along with a number of officers and journalists.
Ambassador Richard delivered a speech on the occasion in which commended the national role of the LAF and confirmed that the continuous support offered to the LAF by her country emanates from the firm partnership between both friend countries and aims to boost the combat capabilities of the LAF in continuing to fight terrorism and defend Lebanon.
Furthermore, Brigadier General Farah recited a letter of appreciation on behalf of the Armed Forces Commander to the US authorities and presented it to Ambassador Richard, in which he shed the light on the major impact of the US aid in supporting the missions of the army, particularly those related to facing terrorism. Moreover, he commended the efforts exerted in order to develop the relations of cooperation between both armies.
