An honoring ceremony for the citizens of Akkar in Qleiaat Air base with the presence of the Armed Forces Commander

An honoring ceremony for the citizens of Akkar who contributed to building the fence of Qleiaat Air base was held in the mentioned Airbase, with the ‎presence of the Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun as well as current and former MPs and several officers.

General Aoun greeted the citizens who are offering their best youth to the LAF and commended their continuous support to the LAF, whether financially or morally. General Aoun also considered that this initiative is proof of their confidence and belief in the military institution. Moreover, General Aoun stressed the coherence between the LAF and the people in the journey of security and preserving stability during tensions witnessed by the region. General Aoun commended the efforts of the Air force in helping the citizens of Qobeyat to extinguish the fires that started at the outskirts of the town where helicopters performed 96 hours of flight while participating in extinguishing the fire, in addition to their contribution to transferring patients to Beirut hospitals, confirming that our duty towards our parents and land is our choice and sacrifice is a medal that we wear proudly, from Nahr el Bared battle to the “Dawn of the Outskirts” battle.

The Armed Forces Commander concluded by saying: weapons are important, but strong will is the most important and our choice is always to preserve our solidarity.

Eid El Adha carries many significances and is a reflection of our lives, as they are filled with sacrifices. The word “sacrifice” comes in the middle of our emblem. This is the job of the LAF, sacrificing for the sake of our families, land and country. It is our message that we shall continue.

We are proud of your accomplishments that we wear as a medal in the LAF, Lebanon and the Airforce.

All missions performed by the Air Force, whether military or civil, such as extinguishing fires and evacuating patients, are for the sake of the people and we will continue to sacrifice for this people.
