The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On April 5, 2026, at approximately 21:00, an apartment in Ain Saadeh area – Metn was subjected to a hostile Israeli strike using two GBU-39 bombs, launched from an aircraft or a naval vessel, as part of the broader aggression against Lebanon.

A specialized army unit arrived at the site of the attack and conducted a field survey to collect evidence. The findings showed that the two bombs penetrated the building’s roof and then the fourth floor, before detonating in the targeted third floor. This resulted in the deaths of three residents of that floor and injuries to others.

Preliminary investigations also indicated that there were no new tenants in the building.

It was also reported that an individual was seen leaving the building on a motorcycle immediately after the attack; investigations are ongoing to determine his identity and uncover further details.

The Lebanese Army Command calls on the public to refrain from speculation regarding this incident and to act with awareness and responsibility while awaiting the conclusion of the investigation.
