Implementation of Exceptional Security Measures Across Various Lebanese Regions on the Occasion of Christmas and New Year

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

Army units have begun reinforcing security measures within the framework of their operational duties and implementing exceptional security measures across various Lebanese regions on the occasion of Christmas and New Year, with the aim of protecting tourist and commercial areas and facilities and ensuring the safe movement of citizens.

These measures were preceded by the announcement of a temporary suspension of licenses for carrying weapons and traffic facilitation cards until 2 January 2026.

The Army Command calls on citizens to cooperate with the security measures in place in order to safeguard public safety and prevent any incidents. It also warns against celebratory gunfire, under penalty of legal prosecution, due to the danger it poses to citizens’ lives and the threat it represents to public safety.
