Individuals arrested, drugs and weapons seized in Al Sharawna – Baalbek

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

On 05/06/2022, as a result of the raids carried out by the army units in Al Sharawna, 6 citizens and 6 Syrians were arrested. Some of them were involved in opening fire towards soldiers on 03/06/2022, others are wanted under several arrest warrants for drug promotion.

During the raids, a military vehicle came under fire. 2 soldiers were injured, consequently, the troops returned fire.

17 weapons, an RPG launcher, 15 hunting rifles, ammunition, an amount of drugs, a sum of money, and 3 four-wheel-drive vehicles were seized. Two drug manufacturing laboratories were also seized and their contents were confiscated.

The arrestees and the seized items were turned in to the competent judicial authorities, and a follow-up is being conducted to arrest the rest of those involved.
