Inspecting a container filled with chemical material

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

Specialized teams part of the Engineering Regiment, in cooperation with a team of French experts continue to take precautionary measures while conducting a thorough mapping of the port of Beirut area. Between 14/8/2020 and 22/8/2020, these teams inspected 25 containers filled with hydric acid and 54 other containers filled with other substances that may be the source of safety hazards if spilled.

These substances were handled properly according to scientific and safe methods. These operations are being followed up in coordination with the relevant authorities within the port.
