Issuance of Orders to Military Units to Respond to Sources of Fire

The Lebanese Armed Forces Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

Based on the directives of the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, the Army Command has ordered the military units deployed along the northern and eastern borders to respond to sources of fire coming from Syrian territory that target Lebanese lands. These units have commenced responding with appropriate weaponry, following recent clashes during which several Lebanese areas were subjected to shelling and gunfire.
