The Lebanese Armed Forces Commander honors the former President of the Armed Forces Veterans Association, retired Major General Othman Othman

The Lebanese Armed Forces Commander, General Joseph Aoun, honored the former President of the Armed Forces Veterans Association, retired Major General Othman Othman, during a visit to his house in the presence of its current president, retired Major General Nicolas Mezher, and a number of attendees.
The Army Commander thanked Major General Othman for his relentless efforts made during his presidency of the Association towards preserving the rights of retirees in security institutions, especially in these exceptional circumstances, stressing that the Association and the Army are the Major General’s second family. He then presented him with a memorial shield in appreciation of his sacrifices. On the other hand, Major General Othman appreciated General Aoun’s initiative, stating that the years he spent in active service and as the Association’s president shall remain a source of pride throughout his life.
Major General Mezher also pointed out the essential role played by Major General Othman in uniting the Armed Forces retirees since 1991, from operationalizing the Association to establishing its work mechanisms until it became the representative of these retirees and the contributor to fulfilling many of their rights.
He also praised the continuous support provided by the Army Command to the Association out of loyalty to the retired military personnel and its commitment to stand by them.
