The Lebanese Army arrests 7 individuals and seizes large quantities of drugs, weapons, and military ammunition

The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

The Army continues to combat drug trafficking and the trade of military weapons, as well as pursue those who commit crimes and disturb public order. In this context, the Intelligence Directorate, supported by units from operational forces deployed on the ground, carried out raids on the homes of wanted individuals in the Bekaa and Mount Lebanon regions, arresting 4 Lebanese citizens and 3 Syrians as follows:

  • The arrest of the citizens (H.A.) and his brother (AA.A.), along with three Syrians, in the town of Brital – Baalbek, for possessing large quantities of drugs and raw materials used in their production, in addition to a large quantity of weapons and military ammunition.
  • The arrest of the citizen (T.S.) in the Matrabah – Hermel area, for forming an armed kidnapping gang and stealing cars, and for owning drugs and military weapons.
  • The arrest of the citizen (A.S.) in the Mrayjeh – Baabda area, for extorting residents and provoking disturbances in the area.

The seized items were handed over, and the investigation was initiated with the arrestees under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining individuals involved.
