The Lebanese Army Commander in chief General Joseph Aoun inaugurates a road network in the outskirts of Al Qaa and Ras Baalbeck, as well as new military outposts there

The Lebanese Army Commander in chief General Joseph Aoun inaugurated this morning a road network in the outskirts of the towns of Ras Baalbek and Al Qaa. It also included the road of Kherbat Daoud- Martisa (3km long), the road of Kherbat Daoud- Martaiba ( 11 km long), and the road of Ras Baalbeck - Al Qaa (10 km long). The roads link the military outposts and the the two villages, enabling the citizens to reach their lands.
In addition, General Aoun inaugurated a new military outpost for the directorate of intelligence at Al Qaa and an outpost for the military police at Ras Baalbeck, in the presence of prominent figures from the region.
Moreover, General Aoun visited the Wadi Al Tini outpost, under the command of the Second Land Border Regiment on the eastern borders where he met the soldiers and pronounced a speech that included: "you are the heroes of the army, you faithfully accomplish all the missions in the hardest conditions. You took an oath to protect the country, which indicates the importance of your role and the sanctity of your missions. We cannot neglect our responsibilities towards our country and our oath, because Army duty is mainly to confront the crises and hard conditions.
Without your performance and sacrifices, no outskirt would be safe from drugs, terrorisim and illegal trafficking, and other areas would loose their security and stability.
General Aoun added: Despite all the campaigns against the military institution by some fanatics, you are still determined to perform your missions. Everyone has personal interests, except for you who make your national interest a priority. You are doing your duty while remaining indifferent to the criticisms and accusations against you.
He continued, "The economic situation directly affects the military and you increases the challenges and difficulties, but we will spare no effort to try to overcome this ordeal, and in this context, all our local and foreign meetings aim to help the military." General Aoun affirmed that "the security situation is stable thanks to your sacrifices, so be proud that the Lebanese people have full confidence in you."
He thanked the countries who are friends of Lebanon for their assistance to the military institution, and to the citizens and expatriates for their valuable contributions that help the army to continue performing its missions. In al-Qaa and Ras Baalbek, General Aoun affirmed, "This border area provides the military institution with the best of its youth. We are aware of the extent of its suffering during the previous periods in the face of terrorism and in these difficult circumstances, thanking its sons for the constant support to the army." In conclusion, a new food service facility was inaugurated at the command of the Second Land Border Regiment in Ras Baalbek to provide the necessary nutrition for the regiment's soldiers.
