A live fire maneuver in Akoura – Laqlouq with the presence of the Armed Forces Commander

The Rangers Regiment performed in Akoura – Laqlouq a live fire maneuver simulating the attack of an airborne enemy company that was disembarked on a hill. The maneuver took place with presence of the Armed Forces Commander General Joseph Aoun and the US assistant of the Secretary of Defense Mr. Karem Robert along with US Ambassador to Lebanon Ms. Elizabeth Richard and several officers. The maneuver also took place with the participation of units from the 2nd Artillery regiment, the 1st Armed Vehicles regiment and the Air Force and included shootings with tanks, artillery, airplanes and medium and light weapons.

The Armed Forces Commander commended the discipline of the participating units in managing the fire just as he commended their combat preparedness to execute missions with precise coordination between the Air Forces and Land Forces. General Aoun also commended the history of the Rangers Regiment and its long journey, filled with generosity and sacrifices and confirmed that Lebanon will remain a safety haven where stability reigns thanks to the accomplishments of the LAF.
