Obituary of Retired Brigadier General PSC Fahim Qortbawi

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation mourns retired Brigadier General PSC Fahim Qortbawi (600001), who passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026. Below is a brief overview of his life:
•    Born on November 19, 1936, in Jdita – Zahle. 
•    Enlisted in the army on October 1, 1956. He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on May 1, 1960, and gradually rose through the ranks to Brigadier General, effective July 1, 1986. 
•    Received several medals, as well as commendations and congratulations from the Army Commander on multiple occasions. 
•    Attended several training courses both in Lebanon and abroad. 
•    Married with two children.
